Teekkarikuoro Seeks a New Choir Conductor

Teekkarikuoro, a mixed choir of around 50 singers based at Tampere University's Hervanta campus, has been combining engineering ambition with musical creativity since 1985.

Known for its light-hearted yet high-quality approach, the choir has earned a gold stamp at the Tampere Vocal Music Festival in 2017 and 2019. The choir rehearses weekly from late August to early June, supplemented by weekend camps for concert preparation and both domestic and international performances.

Our repertoire ranges from rhythm music to choral classics, with a strong emphasis on local culture, including "manserock." Teekkarikuoro also regularly commissions new compositions and arrangements.

The choir actively organizes themed concerts, participates in national and international events, and performs at university and private functions. Additionally, the smaller ensemble TeekkariKvartti, formed by choir members, delivers frequent performances in the Pirkanmaa region. Teekkarikuoro has released three albums, the latest in 2022, and collaborates with various organizations on special projects.
